Great Desert Rift Timeline

Postby R. Ritnour » Thu Oct 22, 2015 9:52 am

As we continue the slow conversion from Takamo, into Takamo Universe, we need to set the current game within the context of Takamo Universe history. In Takamo, the entire galaxy is 26 sectors cubed. That is a lot of territory but the sector boundaries in Takamo Universe are virtually limitless. The Takamo Universe galaxy itself is far too large to populate all at once, so we will begin with a smaller sized region of the Estra galaxy, also known as the Naplia galaxy (Naplian Empire designation) or the Milky Way galaxy (Terran Empire designation). That region is called "The Great Desert Rift." It is located to the galactic north of the Terran Empire. It is a region where the remnants of many biological races fled as the cybernetic rebellion raged across the galaxy, which accounts for the random way that empires are scattered across the region. You can get a sense of the history of the galaxy leading up to the start of Takamo Universe in 4715, by reading through the "Brief History of the Galaxy" blogs on the website. The new game will begin in 4715, Terran Standard Calendar (TSC). However, the events that are happening from week to week in the current Takamo game are set in the years after the conquest of the galaxy by the rebel cybers and before the beginning of Takamo Universe in 4715. In a very real sense, you the Takamo players, will have a profound influence on the development and history of the Great Desert Rift and the evolving galaxy.

For the purpose of folding current Takamo game events into Takamo Universe, we have assigned a calendar date to the weekly Takamo turns. The 10-23-2015 turn represents the year 4616 TSC (Terran Standard Calendar). Each of the weekly Takamo turns will now represent one calendar year of time. We will track the major events of each turn and place them into the historical timeline and also publish them as part of the weekly blogs on the website. Make sure that you keep up with the blogs on the website because important military intelligence can be gleaned from those reports. If you believe that there are events that are important to the historical timeline, please contact randy with your additions and suggestions.

As always, if you have comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to comment here or contact us by email.
