Turn Printout Suggestions

A few suggestions to improve the turn results. I don't know how hard any of these would be and none are critical - count them as "nice to have" changes.

1. Eliminate the pagination and page header. Since we get the turns electronically, there is no reason to have the form feed, blank space and page numbers in the turn file.

2. Tighten up the first page. It was set up to have the turn sheet folded and put in a window envelope to show the player address. That's not needed, you could eliminate a lot of blank space on that page.

3. Change the sector probe to put "----" in place of "NoSt". It makes reading the sector probe and seeing the sectors of interest much easier.

4. Have the data from probes and surveys of planets come out in the same order as on the planet report. For example, the number of MCs is after the number of PCs on the scans, but it is reversed on the planet report.

I agree with all of the above, but I use a * for no stars.

I have long thought the page breaks no longer matter so they probably can be removed with no issue. I'll have to see how that can be done. I know they programmed the game to handle multiple printers over the course of the game. As for reorganizing the planet reports, have to look at the code and see why they are in different orders. Early on I know that NoSt was used to indicate to the player that the subsector actually has No Stars in it. In the early game there were no Sector probes, only a star map you could get from scanning an Ancient Civ. Sector probe code was probably copied from that.
