Does anybody know how to determine the threshold for receiving the maximum RU's for your goods
I pretty much understand Colonies. However, on some of my Terraformed world's the threshold is 32% of request. While other Terraformed world's that threshold is 36% of Request.

Not quite sure what you mean the the %'s but will try to explain.

The amount of goods a planet will buy is based on the following formula although there are variables based on status and what type of empire. PCENTER * 5 + POP + MU / 10 + FIGHTER / 5 + FORT / 5

The amount they'll pay per cargo point is about 20 RU's per cargo maximum but that depends on how much you sell. If you over sell, i.e. more than the planet asks for then the price per cargo goes down.

The logic is based roughly on supply and demand. What you try and do is get the maximum price for goods but don't sell or you start getting less per cargo point.

Hope that helps.

okay that tells how to figure the Request for goods.
As a trader I receive 41 RU's per unit for a certain amopunt of goods. this i am calling the threshold.
on world
ST SZ AT HY MP MC PC SY FT FTR MU HMU POP ABM TRP TC MB TL CB M T A RU's/unit request at 41 per PoR
PT 8 4 8 20 24 120 4 40 200 800 624 104 100 0 0 65 30 0 N Y N 41 832 280 33.65
TW 9 5 5 17 21 105 5 45 225 900 900 117 40 40 3 73 70 0 N Y N 41 786 277 35.24

these two planets are different status I would quarry why the difference in PoR(percent of Request)
this is The limit of what I get 41 RU's for each additional unit is only worth 1 Ru's

Curious. Using this formula, one of my TL 2 Pirate Havens should buy in excess of 1,000 cargo units, but the most I have seen them request is 91. The planet has in excess of 9,000 MUs on it, 10 PCs, and 65 POP. Am I stuffing up the formula. PCs*5+POP+MUs/10+Ftrs/5+Forts/5?

That makes sense, as I am getting 108 RU per unit, which is significantly higher than a Trade Corp would get. My worlds do degrade with every raid, but in the short term the profit is acceptable.

So are you saying that if you sell to Planet 1 the max you can sell is 33 cargo to get 41 RU's per cargo and planet 2 35 cargo? That seems low. You should be able to sell about 270 cargo and still get 41 RU's per cargo if my math is correct on either world. So maybe I'm not understanding what the RU's/unit request at 41 per PoR means. Somehow I'm missing something.

world 1
request 832
max I can sell for 41 is 280
PoR = 280/832=33.65

world 2
request 786
max Ican sell for 41 is 277
PoR= 277/786=35.24

So are you saying that I can only get 41 ru's for 33.65 percent of request on Platforms
However, I get 35.24 percent of Requset on Terraforms

No I'm not really saying that at all. The routines were written in the original games and I have not modified them all that much. What I did was add some messages about what cargo the planet wanted and would sell you you. I don't see anything in the code that differentiates between terraformed, platform, pirate haven, or even Ancient Civ so I think it's just a matter of a combination of PC's, POP, Military units, etc. on the planet. I have to look a little more carefully to see why the % difference. Try to do some looking this weekend.
