Question: What is a closed wormhole? That it is a one-way wormhole, or that the wormhole closed/collapsed after my ship went through?

Are you talking about Hyperspace Rifts? They are one way.

Yes, talking about the hyperspace rifts, after going through one, I got a report which included this sentence: "Rift is a closed wormhole."

This is the report when you try to make a rift jump but the fleet is not in a true hyperspace rift. Go back and check your location and see if the scan of the subsector gave you a note that there was a hyperspace rift present.

There was a hyperspace rift present and the ship went through it successfully. Here is the report:

Navigation Computer reports that Fleet x Rift jump
destination is estimated to be XYZ123
CONDITION RED ALERT! Damage Control reports follow.
Fleet x reports extended jump completed with no damage.
Fleet x reports arrival at subsector location XYZ123
Scanning computer reports Stellar cloud at XYZ123
Fleet x reports XYZ123 Rift is a closed wormhole.

Interesting. I do Rift jumps all the time with my Rift Corsairs, and have never seen this.

The rules do seem to indicate that a Hyperspace Rift will usually (but not always) lead to the same Sector, which I take to mean that the next time you use the rift there is a small chance it will not lead where you expect it to lead....I am wondering if what you are seeing is the result of the Hyperspace Rift to that sector closing up?

It might be interesting to send another rift ship through the same HRift, to see if it leads to the same sector.
