attrition

I recently move some population from a 4,6 planet and unloaded them onto a 5,5 planet, 5 population units died during the unloading process.
Is this attrition or is there some other calamity not mentioned like stampedes.

It is attrition, how many POPs did you drop?

25 so a 20% attrition but 5,5 is in my range,merchetti merchants this is my 11th turn entry. First time playing.

I only move 10 POP at a time. I think when you do that it limits losses. Going from 4,6 to 5,5 should not be that great of a loss. Maybe Thom can weigh in on this...

Thank you, I was just under the impression that I either would not suffer attrition in this case or the losses would be minimal
For example 1 or 2 percent send.

They should have been. I think the problem was when you sent 25. I have sent 10 at a time and have lost none.
