Problem with Order 89 - Attacking Forts

I did the following order on my turn for 1/19/2018:
74 89 ******** 2 3

and got this result:
-Action 74-

-Action 75-

i.e., nothing happened. No missile was used in the attack.

Did you use a location one starting point and a location two target?

I have experienced combat missile fleets, send me the location and I'll knock those forts off for you!

Did you load missiles on your missile ships before attacking? When you build missile ships, they do not come pre-loaded with missiles.

I did have missiles loaded into the fleet. None were fired despite the order.

I didn't use two locations, as the order doesn't require them according to the documentation I got when R&D reached that level. Also, the fleet was already in orbit over the target planet.

If you told it to fire missiles at forts and there were no forts, nothing would happen, but I think you get some sort of message.

Looked at that, thanks for the pointer. I wasn't using too many ships (10) or missiles (3). The lack of any text for the attack means something is going wrong - either I'm doing it wrong and should get some kind of message or the program is not handling a good attack.

I always use a starting point in location one, it must be from system space or a planet within the system. If your high enough tec you can launch the missiles from subsector space. You MUST use a location two, this is the target location for the fleets to fire their missiles at.

Try this on the coming turn and I believe you will be happy with the outcome.

If you do need a location 2, they need to fix the rules update you get on the turn when you get missile tech. It currently reads:
