Original Artwork
Most of the art pieces in the original game were pen and ink drawings that appeared in the rulebook or in tech level increase sheets distributed to players as part of the game play. Some of the art pieces were also used in magazine ads. Roger Buchholz, Tony Schappaugh, Jim Kuzze and David Snodgrass were the main contributing artists.
Additional pen and ink pieces were created for “Gaming Universal,” a play-by-mail magazine owned and operated by Advent Games, Inc., the parent company. Threshold, a Takamo Newsletter, was a regular publication that featured fan fiction and “how-to” articles. It also included visual art contributions. Samples of art from all three sources are displayed here.
